Giambattista Valli once said that he doesn't shop, but rather buys things that inspire him and give him emotion. His 2013 Fall Couture Collection showed us just that...
I don't think I've ever had an actual dream dress before...but that changed from none to about twenty the second I laid eyes on the dresses from Giambattista Valli's 2013 Fall Couture Collection.
I fell completely in love with the "fine China-inspired" collection because of the romantic and ethereal image that Valli mastered incredibly. There was an evident amount of focus on detail with each and every piece in the collection.
Valli incorporated papery, thin lace and various amounts of ruffled textures to the dresses. The small, floral prints paired seamlessly with oversized, non-structured shapes. The vibrant hues of reds, yellows, and blues brought everything to life on the runway.
To make everything even cooler, many of the dresses were based on Sèvres, Meissen and Wedgwood fine China plates! (New York Times)
Take a look at some of my favorite pieces from the collection...
